This July, the food delivery company Glovo presented the third edition of the GastroEspaña Barometer, a report that looks at trends in the consumption of the most emblematic dishes of Spanish gastronomy.

Which dishes are the most popular in Spain for home delivery?

Especially in these summer months when our routine is distorted and travel and comings and goings keep our pantry a little out of control, opening your favourite delivery app and ordering something quick will solve your lunch or dinner.

This is the top 3 most popular dishes in Spain according to Glovo:

TOP 1: CROQUETTES:

Users ordered more than 1.2 million croquettes in the last twelve months. The cities with the highest growth in demand for croquettes are Murcia, Vigo and Valladolid. In March alone, more than 120,000 croquettes were ordered at home.

TOP 2: POTATO OMELETTE:

The potato omelette remains in second place on the podium. In the last twelve months, omelette orders have grown by 18%, reaching 558,000 units sold in the territory.

TOP 3: POTATO SALAD:

The potato salad also maintains its position and occupies third place. The month in which the most units of this recipe were ordered was July 2023 with more than 16,000 portions.

Completing the top five are cachopo (two steaks, sandwiched together with cheese and a slice of ham, all coated in bread crumbs and fried, originally from the Asturian region) and cannelloni, with 120,000 and 100,000 portions ordered, respectively.

Other dishes in high demand in certain regions are huevos rotos (crushed eggs with ham, pepper, over fries), rabas (squid rings), pimientos del Padrón (a kind of pepper originating in the village of Padrón, Galicia), chistorra (a type of chorizo/sausage), patatas bravas (spicy potatos) or serranito (pork loin sandwich with serrano ham and roasted peppers).
